Domestic Violence Against Women
There I was again in a corner in my babies room. Bruised, sore, crying and very frightening. Feeling alone, hopeless and not knowing what to do to protect myself from that monster. It didn't matter how loud or how many times I screamed for help, my next door neighbors always pretended they didn't hear anything because “it was none of their business”. What did I do to deserved that? That was a question I asked myself over and over every time I got beat up by my abuser. I was humiliated, threaten and beat up for over a year until one day I learned that I wasn't alone. That out there were thousands of women in the same situation I was and that there wasn't anything wrong with me. The only one doing the wrong thing was him, the monster. The domestic violence against women is a problem that not only affected me but does affects many women all over the world. The United States had created campaigns and programs to help battered women break the cycle because sometimes it can be very difficult for a woman to step out of an abusive relationship, a violence environment is not good for the children and some domestic violence cases ended in murder.
