Having integrity means that you will always do what is right. It means that you will not take short cuts when you think no one is looking and it means that what you say is what you’ll do. In short integrity means you are trustworthy honest and reliable.
It seems like people now days aren’t worried about the type of people they are, they don’t think at all about how their lack of integrity effects the people around them. For example if you are at the grocery store and you see someone drop some money, the right thing to do is to tell that person that they dropped it and return it to them. So what happens of you don’t your 50.00 richer sure but what happens to the other person? They likely reach the register and have no money to pay for their items maybe that was all the money they had to feed their family you just don’t know. Integrity makes you a better person people can look at you and say that’s a selfless person.
Another aspect of doing what is right is when a coach or instructor tells you to perform a task a certain way and then they trust you to do it. Yes you could cut corners and not make a full lap around the track or you could short your count on pushups but when you do this you lose integrity and with it the trust you had. Trust is hard to earn back and if you do it too many times it ruins your reputation, you become the person who doesn’t get the job done or the person who can’t be relied on.
