Assignment 1

The following pages contain a plan to take twenty university students from various Universities around Australia to Germany for a four-week trip. During the tour, one week will be at Munich Technology University attending lectures/seminars based around Construction management, the other three weeks will be a mix of cultural experiences including, Munich Oktoberfest and a cruise that commences in Switzerland.

This management plan contains a detailed scope, work breakdown structure timetable, cost breakdown and risk management assessments.

Scope

A fully funded trip for twenty Australian University students to Munich Technology University in Munich, Germany.

With the help of Dr Fredrick Grossmann, Head of Sustainable Design and Construction at the University, Seven days of lectures and group projects have been organised on campus in Munich.

The students range in age from 22-36 years old, which means guardians will not be necessary. The Australian Consulates in both Munich and Zurich have been informed of the names in the group and their intended movements, also the Australian Government list Germany and Switzerland as low risk travel destinations.

Both Switzerland and Germany are part of the Schengen Convention therefore no Visas’ are needed for our visit as the duration is less than the allowed 90-day period.

All flights, accommodation, education and the cruise have been fully funded by a benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous until after the trip. Ground transport, such as domestic buses and trains, has not been funded and the costs have been included in the information packages emailed to the students so they can budget for it.

Any meals/drinks included in flights, accommodation and the cruise are included, meals/drinks outside of the aforementioned situations are to be paid
