Why should I get an MBA?

When deciding whether to get an MBA, one must take into account several factures that are both personal and logical. Personal factures are things like time commitment, current employment satisfaction, cost of education, life goals to name a few. These reasons are subjective and specific to each individual person and therefore have no way to quantify. One can only weigh them against other personal tradeoffs and decide from there. Logical rationale follows a more statistical and quantifiable decision path. Some of the questions one might ask is, how much more money on average can someone with an MBA earn over their life time or how many of the current jobs that are listed require a graduate degree like a MBA? These questions have specific answers and can help one arrive at fact based decision.

The first question I would ask would be, is the cost of the education going benefit me financially in the long run? What will be the return on my investment? Is earning 50 percent more than what you were making before enough to justify the cost? Well obviously this statistic is a bit ambiguous, if I was earning 20k before I got my MBA and all I would earn after is 30k then that would hardly offset the cost of the degree. That is typically not the case though, even if you are earning 20k dollars per year before obtaining a MBA, it is more likely that your annual compensation will increase by much more than 50 percent. It seems like the capital investment in almost every case is worth the return.

Another and maybe more important question to ask is, can I get a job after I get my MBA? In this current employment environment with unemployment at
