Good Afternoon Faculty and Administration, honored guests, parents, family and friends:
I came here in SSIS on June 2002 and started attending as a Casa 1 student crying everyday for over a month out of separation anxiety from my dear mother. I made a deal with her by seeing to it I see her leave our car key’s to the guard at the lobby before I go and run of to class. So who would have thought that I would be standing before all of you delivering my speech as this year’s Salutatorian of Stonyhurst Southville International School. All throughout my time here, I have learned so much in so many ways. And I would not have done these entirely if not for the help of some people who have truly touched our lives. So allow my class to give thanks to all of them.
First of all we would like to thank our heavenly Father for this wonderful gift of life, light, and wisdom. We also would like to thank Him for continuously guiding us and showering us with blessings. He has continuously guided us through all the challenges and showed us the right path.
In behalf of the Grade 10 Senior Knights, We also would like to thank all of the administrators, faculty members and personnel. We salute all of you for the dedication you put into this institution.
To our dearest Alma Mater, SSIS, thank you for nurturing us with knowledge and skills that we could use for the rest of our lives. It’s because of you that we learned and embraced the true definition of being a community, of being one family. Look around us, look at how completely different we look from each other, and yet, we are all gathered here as one to celebrate everyone’s hard work and perseverance put into this institution.
We would like to give special thanks to Ms. Emily, for being our second mom in school and what I mean by mom is the person who was there for us in every step of the way and would always want the best for each and every one of us. Using her name as an acronym of EMILY (Every Minute I Love You). We truly did feel her love for us in the past 3 years.
To Sir Jerome, You have been a brilliant adviser during our First Year of High School. There was nothing better than starting off High School with you as our adviser. We will never forget your 1-2-3 punch combo when you substituted for us one time in PE. Words cannot express how thankful we are for you helping us in finishing our PASS. We would not be receiving our book-bounded PASS today without you. Cheers CherJer!
To Ms. Sharon, thank you for trying to come up with the most interesting way of teaching lessons to your class with your Geogebra projects and Project Charters. We will surely miss your dance moves that you try to incorporate in every lesson that you teach us. Thank you for your patience for us over 2 years worth of very very intense Math.
Thank you to our other teachers Ms. Lulu, Ms. Carol, Sir Gregg, Miss Angela, Miss Chona, Miss Giellyan and Miss Rushel. Being our teachers and spending a 5-6 hours with us in a week for the past months just show how much you care for us. We will cherish the things we have learned and the values that you have shared
