Traditional Classes vs Online Classes
Over the years the options for continuing education has improved, the options offer more flexibility, lesser financial expenses and alternative methods to learn. Both methods have some similarities and some differences, but they definitely have one thing in common and that is obtaining a degree. Having face to face communication that traditional education offers provides a better learning environment, yet online education is more flexible than traditional education.
Time management skills are very important in both a traditional and online environment. In a traditional classroom, there are specific times and days to be in the classroom. In an online environment there is no set time to study, so time management is very important in an online classroom. There are many distractions when working online. Work, kids, and everyday activities can cause a student to lose track of time and fall behind in learning. In a traditional classroom students are forced to be quiet and listen to the instructor, so there are fewer distractions while learning in a traditional setting. While missing classes can cause great consequences in a traditional setting, in an online setting there are no set times or days to be in the classroom, so there are fewer consequences.
Learning the course content in both a traditional and online environment is very different. In a traditional setting, the students are face to face with the instructor. Asking questions about any difficulty the student may be experiencing is much easier when the instructor is sitting right there. When learning online the instructor gives set assignments and instructions that the student is forced to learn on their own. If the student is experiencing trouble and needs to ask questions, emailing the instructor and waiting for a reply is the only option.
