Whoe foods vs processed foods. What is the difference between the two. Eating more whole foods is a good way to replace many of the processed smacks and foods that have a lot of extra sugar, fat (including trans fat), salr, and other things added to them and a lot of good things taken out, such as fiber. Food processing is any deliberate change in a food that occurs before it's available for us to eat. It can be as simple as freezing or drying food to preserve nutrients and freshness, or as complex as formulating a frozen meal with the right balance of nutrients and ingredients. Fruits and vegetables are great examples of whole foods. They are unprocessed, unrefined, and can be eaten without any additivies or modifications. For example, a serving of baked fish would be a whole food, while a fish stick would not be. Whole foods can include: fruits, vegetables, legumes (beans, soy beans, peas, lentils) nuts and seeds, milk, whole grains, meats, chicken and fish, eggs. Whole foods contain no additivies, preservatives, artifieal sweetners, colors or any other nasties. List of whole foods, grains, meat, eggs, sprouts, seaweeds. Some benefits because they are minimually poocesed, whole foods are more nutreints than processed foods. They have heops of fiber, phytochemicals, antioxidants and are totally nutrient dense. True whole foods are organi certified organic means foods have been produced without nasty checmicals and pesticides and ensure that you have the best quality, soul nourishing food available. Processed foods that may be bad for your diet canned foods w/ large amounts of soduim or fat breads and pastas with refined white flour instead of whole grain. Some studies suggest that eating purcessed meats may increse uyour rish of colorectal, kidney and stomach cancer. Processed meats incldue hot dogs, bologna, sausage, ham and other packaged lunch meats. High in calaries, satuarted fats and soduim.
