To what extend can a knower use his point of view as tool to pursuit knowledge
Every minute of every day, we as humans have points of views on what we encounter in our lives; all knowers have points of views. A point of view basically is the way that a person sees the world; it is their side of the story and their perspective of situations by which they are exposed to. When someone expresses a point of view, it generally ends up in being vague and in most cases lacks evidence. These individuals who may have a vague opinion, who can sound convincing can actually change sides when presented with new points of views, we as viewers tend to base our points of views from our backgrounds and perhaps even our cultures, traditions and ways of being. This is why points of views are, for the most part very vague beliefs and lack concrete evidence. Moreover, the question remains, are points of views beneficial to a knower or is it more of an inside feeling that contributes negatively to the absolute truth? It is believed that points of views tend to have different roles in the wide variety of areas of knowledge, but there are different ends to a point of view' role and position, the areas of knowledge that will help further explain this position are: Mathematics, the Arts and finally, History.
Considering a point of view in mathematics, which is the universally accepted language, is quite futile for mathematics is a language that uses numbers and symbols to find an answer, rather than creating an answer, thus the way other areas of knowledge illustrate their problem solving skills. There is a reasons why mathematics is considered the universally accepted language, it is straight forward, there is no "in between" answer, if it's not the exact answer, it is off, completely wrong. Since mathematics is a right or wrong answer, your point of view is only helpful to your knowledge if it is the correct answer, when we, as viewers express our points of views in mathematics, we tend to claim an answer and using our calculations as evidence but when the answer is wrong we have start from scratch "When things get too complicated, it sometimes makes sense to stop and wonder: Have I asked the right question?" –Enrico Bombieri
In short what, Bombieri was saying is that our points of views tend to derive us from the question and end's up taking us in an off topic discussion, but in mathematics, it is quite frankly impossible to derive from the topic for it would be a waste of time since there is only one right answer to each question, this is why, points of views are not good factors to the solution of a mathematical problem, and for this reason we as humans who are striving for mathematical knowledge cannot use our points of views as a helping tool.
Having considered points of views as unreliable in mathematics, it is important to look at History, and whether or not our opinions
