The Equal Pay Act (EPA) Prohibits any pay discrimination which is based on whether you are male or female and it states that both women and men will be and must be paid equally for the same amount of equal work performed within the same establishment. With the compensation that all forms are include which are salary, bounces, holiday, and vacation pay along with any other types of benefits. This Act allows also for any individuals that may feel that there has been pay discrimination to file any claims under the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. As an employer they are legally forbidden from retaliating towards any employees who might want to take action against discriminatory practices within the workplace. The law does allow for any pay differentials this is which an individual is assessed based on criteria, like rank, production levels, and excellence. Administered and enforced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the EPA was signed into law in 1963 this is part of the Fair Labor Standard Act of 1938. Many other acts have stablished to help employee have protection and prohibit against discrimination. Like the federal laws such as Title VII the Civil Rights act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment act (ADEA) of 1967 and the Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

Not only Did the Equal Pay Act help, but there are many other Acts that have also  

Been put into place to make sure that we all receive equal pay within the work place.
