- Research Category: Classical Conditioning
- Research Topic: Classical Conditioning in Modern Day Therapy
- Research Question: How is Classical Conditioning applied to treat fears and phobias in modern day therapy? What does current research and statistics show about the effectiveness of classical conditioning in modern day psychotherapy? What is classical conditioning? What are the main differences between classical conditioning and modern day conditioning? How was classical conditioning discovered? Who discovered it and developed it.
- The purpose and significance of my research is to find out the modern day classical conditioning applications in treating fears and phobias. I will also be conducting research and reviewing statistics outlining its effectiveness. I am deeply interested to find out more information about its origins as well. In my assignment I would like to first provide detailed information about its origins. I will be going into how it was developed, what was its purpose back then, its applications and the people responsible discovering and or developing it.
Primarily I will be using the Capella Library to conduct my research. I trust Capella will have credible data to fuel my assignment. I plan on using the Capella Library system to carefully look for information on classical conditionings origins, founders, developers, early applications, and purpose. I will be looking to see how the enforcement and establishment of a code of ethics influenced and affected classical conditioning. I will then be looking early and modern day case examples to distinguish any differences between the two. I will use as many scholarly articles not older than five years to outline the applications of classical conditioning in modern day psychotherapy.
