Everybody Needs Faith to Stand on Their Own

I believe in having faith. To have faith is to believe in one’s self. “Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” -Mother Teresa. Without faith you have nothing left to live for. I endured a rough childhood; I was hit, and lied to, and hurt so bad I am eternally scarred. I know bad, and I know the worse that comes after bad. I never had much to grasp growing up and still to this day I struggle with it. When I turned 16 I finally gave up on hope and faith, I tried to end my life because I felt I had no self-worth. I tried again and again to end my life, until one time it actually almost worked; it was then that I realized I didn’t want to die, that no one is worth that. I had just started my life and no one was going to take that away. Then I went back to school and started getting decently good grades and then I started getting recognized by my family for my good grades and I began to have faith in that and myself. I still remember that realization like it was five minutes ago. God had nothing to do with that. That was all me and my faith in myself.
I believe that one’s faith is the most powerful thing in the universe. I believe that nothing can hurt you if you have self-worth. I believe that “If patience is worth anything, it must endure to the end of time. And a living faith will last in the midst of the blackest storm.” -Mahatma Gandhi. I believe that your faith cannot be beaten by anything, including a God, of any sort. The fact about all religions is, someone created everyone single one of them. Every day someone is working to create a new religion or improve an old one. I think that following a religion is giving you false hope, because, what are religious practicing’s in, a book. Who writes books, an author. Who creates your faith and your self-worth though? Yourself, your thoughts, your actions, etc. Everyday people are both gaining and losing their self-worth and their faith, by completing or failing everyday activities.
