Reflection on Book of James

The Book of James is a letter with many vigorous and persuasive truths that provide realistic help for daily Christian living that reflects a genuine faith that transforms lives. The said book was written for Jewish believers to encourage them to endure and live bold Christian lives. James’ purpose is to lead the way for Christians to have a unified life that carries out the work of Christ, pleases the Father, and bears spiritual fruit.

The chapters of the book talk about how strong our faith is. James encourages believers to put their faith into action, and to be servants of Jesus Christ. Living in the Christian world is not my choice but my parents’. But living a Christian life is my choice, since I am now aware of what it means. Believing in Christ and accepting Him into my life is my own choice, my own decision. I know that I am not the type of person who claims to be with God only in the times of struggles and weariness. Instead, I am the type of a person, who shares her whole life with the Lord and allows Him to rule in my body and soul. I must not only seek God so that I could take advantage of myself. I must put God in the center of my life and follow His teachings. I must not only believe in Him but also should live for Him.

Upon reading the book of James, I have realized many things that concern my Christian life. One of these has something to do with attending the Holy Eucharist mass. Receiving the Eucharist is an important part in the lives of a Catholic. Another is that, I am living the life of faith by being a good example to others and by helping the others in every circumstance. As stated, “Whatever you do to thy neighbor is also what you to thy God”. In early Christian life up to the modern times, the ministry of Jesus is to let everyone experience the kingdom of God in our own little ways
