The Origin of Chaplaincy

Each person has different talents as well as different learning methods. We were created to use these gifts for our existence here on this earth. Therefore, we should understand that we must be very particular what we do with the short and precious time that we are here. Some people as well as I find it necessary to learn and understand something by becoming familiar with its origin, nature and roots. In this essay we will exam Chaplaincy from a popular viewpoint and from acceptable scholastic sources. Hopefully this intrinsic enlightenment will put a yearning in our hearts to encourage us to embark on such a noble undertaking. To understand the origin of this word we have initiated our journey using a popular and easy available reference (Webster Online).
