        The human body is unique and does a job to support us while we go through our day.  The body is complex and the is comprised of ten systems which are muscular/skeletal, integumentary including mucous membranes, cardio/vascular, respiratory, neuro/sensory, gastrointestinal, urinary, endocrine/lymphatic, reproductive and immune systems.  Each system plays an integral party in the human body while they were independently and dependently on one another.  Each system is comprised of organs and it each system plays a vital role for the survival and function of our body.  

        The muscular/skeletal system plays three major roles which is produce bone marrow in long bones which is source of white blood cells, provides protection to our body and holds our body in place to ensure it is in the correct state to allow other systems to functional properly.  

The muscular/skeletal system is comprised of cartilage, bones, connective tissue and ligaments.  The main function is provide protect an individual’s organs while a human being is moving and maintaining the position of their body. The best way to think about muscular system it allows us to run, walk, swim, etc.  The body weight of an individual is supported and held by the skeletal system (Marieb, Katiej, 2007).  

        Our body is comprised of over two hundred hones which provide support to us on a daily basis.  Bones are comprised of calcium which is better known as a mineral.  Calcium is essential mineral which is commonly found in the body.  The bones are the backbone are protective shield for our body which is vital to our survival.  The pelvic and rib cage provides the necessary protection needed for our intestines and reproductive organs.  

        Bones are comprised of spongy and compact component and the compact is found on the outer layer of each bone.  Although, each bone varies depending on length and shape.  The spongy is located where the least amount of stress is placed on the bone which makes it less dense than a compact bone component.  Our body is truly amazing as the bones will continue to grow and strengthen until a human being is twenty-five years of age.
