The three goals of restorative care are
- To rehabilitate (restore what was lost).
- To provide independence.
- To promote high level of physical, mental and emotional wellness.
2. Why should you encourage residents to be self-managing?
We should encourage residents to be self-managing because self-managing helps residents to feel useful and keep as much control of their lives as they can.

The daily activities of daily living includes
- brushing teeth
- eating
- toileting
- dressing bathing
- grooming

- walking
- changing positions
- Transferring from bed to chair and back etc.
4. List four or more guidelines for promoting independence.
Some of the guidelines for promoting independence are
- Assisting only as necessary.
- Breaking big tasks into smaller tasks and letting them do by themselves.
