Now in this assignment I will be going to explain the [possible influences that we have on us on dietary intake. I will also assess how the influences on dietary intake may affect the nutritional health impacts on the individuals. Then I will also make realistic recommendations for minimising the negative influences in the individuals in specific health and social care settings.
The factors which influence the choices of what people prefer to eat and also include, these could be such health factors which only restrict the dietary choices and the nutritional intake which is underlying the health conditions that we suffer from, these could be; being lactose intolerance: this is where the dairy products that you eat within your diet is restricted, therefore the person would have to get their nutritional calcium from the other source products such as fish, there are also other alternatives like soya milk which you can locally get or even rice milk. If the person suffers from any sort fo food allergy, a more common one is nut allergy. Suffering from a nut allergy would mean that you are unable to consume those types of food products which contain nuts or other traces of nuts. The dietary habits could also influence meal patterns, for example for those people who work in shifts and patterns, they would occur a big influence on the times that they eat their meal times as they would not be consistent enough and they would be eating at random times of the days. All of these things could have a big impact on the person’s health status in the long term. Moreover any individual’s occupation status is a factor, that whether any individual has a job which would require sitting down at a desk or computer all day long, then they would be deprived of getting their exercise and would be most likely to gain more weight. However if their job involves them to be more active and move up, about and around, such as training for fitness or a football coach then they are likely to get enough consistent and exercise, this will keep them healthy and fit. Economic factors wise the economic climate is a major factor as the salary and wages are still the same but prices of foods and drinks keep going up, and people may not have access
