Every eleven years or so, there is a solar flare causing the magnetic field to temporarily switch sometimes. Occasionally, there is a solar max which is much more intense. During a solar max, things can get extremely unpredictable. Motors are set up to work with the Earth's magnetic field. If the field switched permanently, Earth would be in for a surprise. A solar max occurred today.
I first discovered that something was wrong when my phone just stopped working. I lost all bars, and my phone just shut off. I ran into the kitchen to find that my dad was panicking due to the fact that nothing was working. We ran towards my neighbor's house when the car wouldn't crank. He was a scientist. As we ran, I could feel something odd about the atmosphere. The air was becoming thicker and hotter.
My dad and I arrived at Doctor Faraday's house and knocked on the door. He welcomed us inside as he attempted to explain about the solar max. Doctor Faraday told us that nothing was working because the huge solar flare had knocked out all of the satellites and switched the magnetic field. The motors in our electronics weren't tuned to the new magnetic field. The doctor told us that unfortunately, this solar max would probably be the Earth's last.
Just as we were about to ask what he was talking about, it felt like the Earth started shaking, and there was a supersonic high pitched noise. The doctor quickly yelled to us that because we were so overdue for the solar max, it would have to be completely extreme. He said that the flare had nearly completely destroyed Earth's magnetic field. I didn't know what to do. I looked around in hopes of finding something useful, but it wasn't as if there was a magnetic field lying around.
In the end, everything was being sucked into space. I was hit on the head by something, so I don't remember dying. What I do remember was gaining consciousness, phenomenally, for a moment
