Project Information
Obsolete spare parts have become a headache for service centers, especially with the economical situation & the inability of customers to replace their equipments for new ones. Reverse engineering has become one of the common solutions being used in Egypt.
- About:
Reverse engineering is the process of discovering the technological principles of a device, object, or system through analysis of its structure, function, and operation. It often involves taking something (a mechanical device, electronic component, computer program, or biological, chemical, or organic matter) apart and analyzing its workings in detail to be used in maintenance, or to try to make a new device or program that does the same thing without using or simply duplicating (without understanding) the original.
- Purpose, Scope, and Objectives
- Prototype manufacturing of a Service Robot using reverse engineering.
- The project depends on the high skills of organization teams in the field of R&D.
- Manufacturing the Robot will add the following abilities to the organization:
- Identifying spare parts alloys according to DIN standard.
- Identifying alloy mechanical properties.
- Detailed drawings of obsolete spare parts.
- Manufacturing prototypes of obsolete spare parts.
- Identify Electronic circuits including Programmable ones.
- Ability for the programming of Robots, hence adding additional functions in the future.
- The Project shall be finalized & delivered at the production of the first Preliminary prototype of a Service Robot.
- Project Deliverables
- Prototype Service Robot
- Drawings, Specifications, Software & Documentation for steps of mass production of Service Robots.
- Prototypes shall be packaged & delivered to quality & testing department prior to final production to apply all tests needed.
- Weekends: Fridays plus Official holidays, Calendar modified Accordingly
- Currency: Egyptian Pounds (£), Preferences were modified accordingly
- Duration: About 14Months (356 Working Days)
7. Comments: Actions to be taken to overcome Over budget & delay:
- Make value engineering for the project, we can take some managerial decisions such as Fast tracking
- Changing suppliers for a less costly materials
