Abstract
Internet addiction affects teenager's academic performance, social life, and health state. This paper discussed deeply the main effects induced by the internet addiction. You will thus realize how much our teens are negatively affected by this addiction. It leads to a very low performance at school, and students start to skip classes. It also leaves teenagers with lots of social issues, and medical problems. This paper has valuable information and statistics that help us understand deeply this subject, since it has become one of our mainly concerned problems nowadays. Therefore, legitimate sources were used to cover this topic properly in order to illuminate addicted teens on the damage internet is doing to their brains.

Does the internet define our life? Does the consumption of internet exceed its limits nowadays? Does the internet affect our teenagers in a negative way? Internet has become one of the most commonly used things worldwide. Since it takes a big part of mainstream life, more users tend to use it these days. It has become a necessity to most people, especially teenagers in a way that they become addicted to it. It defines in somehow their whole existence. In a certain way, internet changes our teenagers' personality and life. In fact, internet addiction affects teenager's academic performance, social life, and health state.
Academic performance
Internet addiction has greatly affected teenager's academic performance. Time consuming. Since internet consumes lot of time, students don't find any time left to study. According to Oberlin College Computer Science (n.d.), college students turn their studying time into internet time, causing a massive decrease with their grades. Top students become then average ones. The internet controls their life (para. 3). Thus, all the wasted time would be spent on social networking such as facebook, twitter, or on playing online games. Moreover, the time unit to internet addicts will be lost. They will get so involved on the internet, that they actually forget their clocks! Oberlin College Computer Science (n.d.) points out that the internet addict loses the track of time, thus acquires "technostress" from the accelerated hours passed on the internet without any logical thinking (para. 2). Internet absorbs all the intelligence a human being possesses; it also consumes his whole time without any fear.
