Dear Parent,
It has come to my attention that you would rather your child to attend other classes instead of participating in physical education (PE). Physical education is as important is a student’s curriculum as any other class. John Kennedy once said “Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body; it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” There are many benefits to movement and an active lifestyle that your child will gain by attending our physical education class.
Physical education is part of a curriculum in a school levels. Physical education is the teaching of development and care of the body. This would also include the physical fitness aspect. It is very important part of a student’s curriculum because it increases students overall cognitive abilities and motor skills. Some benefits of including physical activity into your child school curriculum is that it maintains sound physical fitness, overall confidence booster, awareness about important health and nutrition issues, develops sportsmanship and school spirit, develops motor skills, enhance cognitive abilities, and promotes a healthy lifestyle that will continue into adulthood. Physical activity such as dancing or sports can give your child the physical activity to help develop these skills.
Although you would rather your child to attend other academic courses other than physical education to make sure that your child is able to attend a good college, it is extremely important that your child attends our physical education classes. If you think that your child needs extra classes we can work together to develop a curriculum that includes a modified physical education class as well as additional academic classes.
