The ceremony of the blue ribbons is a very important ceremony and can really change people’s lives. Everyday people sit alone at lunch and have no one to talk to. Anyone can change this person’s life by coming up to them and saying hi. This doesn’t mean you have to be with them and be friends with them, but going up to someone and saying hi or sitting next to them and being nice can really make a difference. Giving them one of these blue ribbons is a great way to interact with them. This is also good for people who only hang out with one group of people and never interact with anyone else. This gives everyone an opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and hang out with someone who doesn’t have very many friends for once. With my blue ribbon I honored my brother, Eitan. I honored him when I got home the day we got our blue ribbons. When I honored him I told him that he makes a big difference in my life. I said without him I wouldn’t be doing what I do. I also said that he helps me with everything. He encourages me with everything I do. When I gave it to him at first he thought it was a joke. Then after I was done telling him what I said he looked at me. He told me that he loves helping me, and that I am the best brother ever. Eitan and I usually fight a lot over everything. This made a huge difference on how we treat each other. I think that this showed him that I do really care about him. Also that I am thankful for everything he does. It has changed very much between us.
