A graduate student. Would like to join allfreepapers.com to find some interesting and useful article for my study. I'm interested in reading all kind of technological papers. The idea of self-managed teams is that if management gives employees more control over their work and be more involved, then workers would be more satisfied and more productive while working. This would also make employees feel a greater sense of pride in their work and increase employee involvement. For C&S, this would create a sense of accountability in the employees as they would be working together to fulfill orders instead of operations being split up into segmented responsibilities. Accountability would also set the stage for a different pay scale model that would encourage quality control.Accountable &responsibility : In switching to a team, employees would have to get used to being held accountable by their team members. Now, the responsibility of ensuring orders are correct would rely on how well the team worked together instead of individual motivation. If the team does not work well together, then efficiency will fall and the whole idea of team management will become obsolete. With this switch, the company is looking for a more integrated system of accountability and that will be the toughest aspect of making that kind of switch.I would say that, at the moment, there is no accountability for messing up orders nor any way to trace those orders back to the source. Introducing team management is a way to get employees more involved in their job and make them fell as if they are doing something tangible to the company. It will also allow workers to have more control over their jobs and more flexibility in choosing how they do them. It will make the company more profitable in the long run and more enjoyable to be at.
