This report encloses the information for recommending a computer system, devices and software to the committee of the Little Britain Cricket Club.
The club recently had an increase in the number of club members meaning sending out renewals has become very slow and error prone. As a result of the errors some members may receive duplicate renewal requests therefore the committee requested us to recommend computer software that can be more efficient to manage the administration of the membership renewal. They also want the software to be able to produce publicity like posters and tickets for the club’s special events. Another issue the club is facing is to keep the budget planning on track. As well as managing the club’s expenses they also concern about sending out a monthly newsletter.
After conducting a research through visiting various websites we found various information and devices we could recommend to the Little Britain Cricket Club committee.
We researched on different types of computer systems and their features. The four computer systems we decided to compare are SONY, DELL, ACER and MAC OS 9 shown in appendix 9. Our proposed computer is the ACER Z5769 23 which is a solid reliable computer system. This computer would be most suitable for our customers because of the features it posses. The Acer runs on windows 7 home premium software which processes the data faster and easier. It also has 64-bit hardware and memory. The ACER Z5769 23 has an Intel core 3i processor which allows the computer to do multiple tasks at the same time. It has 3GHz and 3MB indicating the system can process information quicker and store more data’s or files. This would address the club’s current membership issue and has a good amount of capacity left just in case the membership increases again.
Considering the monitor size 23 inches, this would eventually reduce the possibility of sight effect caused by prolong use of the system. It also has a wireless keyboard and mouse permitting the user to move it around. ACER Z5769 holds a 1.5TB memory storage benefitting the club in storing its present membership details or if its increases in the future. If any incidences occur to the computer, the manufacturer provides a 90 day toll free service including software support and a one year limited warranty. Finally our chosen computer comes at a stunning price of £499.97 and meets all the club’s requirements allowing us to purchase two computer systems instead of one at the price of £999.94 as shown in appendix 8
Moving on to the software, we have compared the different types of software for each computer system showing in appendix 10. ACER Z5769 consist Microsoft Office 2007, which is an application services used in Microsoft windows involving Access, Excel, Word, Groove, InfoPath, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.
