Background and Statement of Need

Here at XYZ Company, it is our business to help our clients find the products that they are going to need to help them with their everyday duties in life. Recently it has been brought to our attention that our company should implement a website in order to make our products available to a bigger population and to increase the sales and profit for this company. Our products are selling well to those that are fortunate enough to live in the area, but to those that are not living in the area it is a lot harder for them to know about our company and the products that we sell here.

Creating and designing a website for the company will help with the isolation of our company to the rest of the U.S. and to the world. Not only will help to get the company’s name out there but it will attract new clients to our business. With the rest of the corporate world starting to turn to the internet in order to increase business and sales, it makes no sense to just sit on the sidelines and watch. This would not only give our competitors an edge over us but it will would also be doing nothing to help this company to continue to grow and thrive in today’s tough economy.

By creating and designing a web based store for our company to get the word out to potential clients that we are looking for would be a very smart idea to act on. The first reason of why this should be done is fairly obvious, getting more clients equals more sales and more sales equal bigger profits for the company. The second reason for acting upon this recommendation is to simply get the name of the company out there and on the potential clients mind. Even if the potential clients just go to the site and look at it, they are still thinking of the company and if one of their friends or co-workers asks, they will remember us and tell them about our company instead of one of our competitors that are out there.

Project Objectives

The project should have short and easily reachable deadlines. By keeping the deadlines short, proper progress can be monitored, to ensure that the project is proceeding on schedule. If the deadlines are not being met, then this means that the resources applied to the task need to be increased, in order to keep the project on schedule. By planning the project objectives ahead of time, and the budget that the project will have to work with, can help to define the entire project. The objectives are what the project should provide in the end, and these objectives can be used to determine if the project is a success or a failure. The budget is the money and resources that the project has available. If the project goes over the budget, then the project may be seen as a failure, as it will have not provided what was wanted for the right cost.
