The main factors to think about for the hardware side of selecting a CAD program is: RAM, size of hard drive. This is for soliworks as well as AutoCAD

CAD Report

CAD is known as Computer Aided Design and it is uses computer applications to create/ design an object. It is used for product design, it specifically is used in CNC Machining, however it can be used in other machining equipment. It is used specifically in the engineering industry.

Traditional Drawing has many advantages but like everything with an advantage there is also some disadvantages. The advantages of the traditional method include, having skilled, highly trained engineers that are needed and trained to complete the highly detailed drawings, due to this there is an increase of demand for trained engineers, this allows all the skills and tricks of the trade as

some people call it to be passed down to the next generations. Another advantage of this method is that the drawings produced are a humans’ true interpretation of an object that they have designed, this allows the drawing to have a human element added to it. This is better than CAD because when you use CAD it tends to automatically correct the drawings which means that the drawing produced

might not be the true representation of the object, using this method eliminates this

problem and computer error which means that you will be left with a true correct drawing of the

object in question.

However, there are also disadvantages of using this method, this is the case when it comes to having to share copy and store the image/drawing. This is because all the drawings produced are on paper and drawn on with pencil and sometimes it can be inked in to look better, this means that there is only ever one copy of the drawing unless it gets re-drawn,
