Summary

Entertainment has often been regarded as a means of indulgence; although it can prove fundamental to the development of ideas. Lack of entertainment can nevertheless cause the shutdown of the brain as Entertainment enables a sense of innovation. As a result, numerous ideas are created. Studies have shown that almost half of the world discoveries are done during entertainment when the inventor enjoys the task he partakes. However, over entertainment has its pitfalls. This translates to over 53 hours a week compared to 30 hours in school (Bryant and Vorderer 2006, p.10).

For instance, it is now possible to access all forms of entertainment from the Internet. An individual would only need a computer connected to Internet to search for music, gossip, and movies. The internet has thus been a fast source of entertainment. It helps to argue that the faster the information people can get on the internet, the more time people spend deriving entertainment from the tool.

The past few years have also seen the surge in trend especially with the coming of smart phones with more advanced functionalities. Thus more time is spent on smart phones playing
