Project Management
Project management is an application which is used to implement a project effectively and efficiently. It guides the overall process for a project by planning and managing the company’s resources effectively to achieve explicit goals. Project management process falls into five groups:
• Initiating
• Planning
• Executing
• Monitoring and Controlling
• Closing
My thoughts on project management are:
• Planning a project schedule. It is not just to follow the process but to understand the project’s scope, objectives and goals to make effective decisions.
• Planning on integration, cost, quality, risk management and time.
• Gaining management support and trust from the stakeholders by showing the deliverables at right intervals.
• Ability to deal unexpected situations in a project.
• Resource planning - isolating the work to the teams and procurement of human resources.
• Time tracking, status reporting, task tracking need to be done to keep up to date and guide the teams.
Project management related to IT projects:
IT projects are difficult to manage, since unexpected changes will be encountered at any time in the project. In IT projects project management can organize the SDLC with wide techniques. For a successful project in IT, the following steps must be followed on an hierarchy based.
