Virtual Organization
It seems that during the past few years, the concept of a virtual organization has become increasingly popular; this concept of a company, whose staff work individually, independent of a physical office, yet collaboratively through technology, working toward and achieving the larger unified goal of that company (). A virtual organization or company is one whose members are geographically apart, usually working by computer e-mail and groupware while appearing to others to be a single, unified organization with a real physical location. The recent technology has enabled the structure to be more universally applicable.
Kudler Fine Foods
Kudler Fine Foods is gourmet food shop that was started in 1998, by the owner Kathy Kudler. Kathy Kudler decided to open her own gourmet food shop with just an idea to create a shop that would stock a wide selection of the freshest ingredients as well as all of the tools a gourmet cook could ever want. Kathy was certain that combining the convenience of one-stop shopping with reasonable prices would be a recipe for success. Her idea of opening a store was big success and in two years Kudler’s expanded with the opening of the Del Mar location. The latest store opened in Encinitas in 2003 and looking for just the right spot for another one.
