Q2-What did you dislike about the implementation? What specific aspects of the process do you think they didn’t do well?
I should talk about what I dislike in the implementation phase and in what points in the process they didn’t do well.
Form what I read it was hard to find any cons in the implementations phase because every step they did, they did it by the help of professionals from KPMG and Oracle and if there is any mistake they would repair it by later versions for example CRP0 the problem was that they couldn’t adhere to one of their early goals for the implementation to avoid modification of the ERP software and they partly solve it by the other version which was CRP1.
In the part of building up implementation there is a part which was saying CISCO needed to extant their relationship with KPMG through the end of the implementation, in this case why they needed to extant their relationship they already have a relationship with them from the software selection process.
There is another point which is said by the implementation team recruit “Elizabeth Fee”: “people did it because it was something different, it was THE opportunity “, but one of the rules of engagement for those who are working on the implementation was short term duration and will not affect their career, this part I didn’t understand.
In this kind of projects they need to do things in fast way but sometimes it affects the developer they become tired. Like in the stage of CRP0, CISCO told Oracle to compress there normal 5days training to 2 days 16 hours training, which will be hard on the implementation team.
And one of the things I found out that was bad during the implementation was they fail to design the system to handle correctly to its full load and they didn’t tested the system full load, for example, when they were testing the system, CISCO had to run individual processes sequentially rather than the same time and in addition, only a partially loaded database was used.
