Introduction
What is the issue?
When the issue was first noticed?
How do we know the issue exists?
Are any indicators available (facts and figures)?
Are these indicators quantitative or qualitative?
If quantitative, are measurement is complex issues?
If qualitative, are the opinions or feeling widespread and/or do they have significant impact?
Who is affected by the issue?
What is the perceived impact of the issue? Is the impact best described in qualitative or quantitative terms or a combination of both?
What are the perceived causes?
What is the time frame of both the causes and impact?
Problem or Issue
One should know the exact issue for which one is seeking answer.
The researcher should able differentiate between problem and symptoms.
The researchers need to identify the problem more accurately by reviewing the lit.review
Research Questions
- Clear, question around which you center your research
- Starting point in the writing of research questions to begin with one research question that flows from your research idea.
- Business problem is formed into specific need for inquiry.
Ex:
- What are the factors that contributes to the ……?
- Is there a positive relationship between……?
- To what extent do male mangers have more access to critical information than female mangers at the same rank?
To what extent does lack of access to critical information hinder women’s employment in the workplace?
Do women are more motivated than men?
What is the relationship between the age and satisfaction?
Research objectives
Explains the purpose of the research in measurable terms

Critical review

Reasons for reviewing the literature
- what is already known about your research area – to avoid repeating
- you can learn about different theoretical and methodological
- help you to develop an analytic framework
- consider variables in your research which you might not have thought of
- may suggest further research questions
