1.0 INTRODUCTION
What is OSHA? OSHA is stands on Occupational Safety and Health Administration association that are create The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1994. According to the R. Wayne Mondy, et al, stated the purpose of OSHA is to ensure worker safety and health at the organization by working with employer and employees to create better working environments. So that, OSHA will give the awareness among the employee regarding the occupational safety and health at the workplace and directly promote the safety and health of better environment to meet employee psychological and psychological needs.
For example, in the matter of accident or workplace hazard, a company has a fully responsibilities to give full information to their employees regarding awareness on the occupational safety and health at the workplace. And if any accident occurs company must provide appropriate benefits to compensate the employees and administer the social security schemes under The Social Security Organization (SOCSO). So, it will increase the workers knowledge and experience on issues to pertain the protection among workers that happen at workplace.
According to the Snell & Bohlander, benefits refer as an indirect form of compensation intended to improve the quality of the work lives and the personal lives of employees. And employee services define as an increasing number of services designed to make life at work more rewarding and to enhance the well-being of employees. Benefits also divided into two that mandatory benefits that required by law and non-mandatory benefits likes allowance, financial services, medical payment and more. Hence, this benefit will give advantage totally to the employees.
In sequence, the company or the employers themselves must follow and practice all the requirements under Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994. This act show, OSHA’s responsible to improve their employee safety and health protection. The company must give the services to employees in term of training and education on information to conduct the job or give on-site consultations. In addition, employees also may gain their rights or benefits if there is any workplace violence by receive protection under OSHA through cooperation with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) Malaysia and SOCSO.
2.0 COMPANY OVERVIEW
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) was founded on September 2011 and took over the ownership of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Project (KVMRT) from Prasarana Malaysia Berhad in October 2011. MRT Corp is fully owned by the Minister of Finance and is a corporate body established under the Ministry of Finance (Incorporation) Act 1957 also it was set up to be the developer and asset owner of the MRT project. And currently, the chairman of the MRT Corp is Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. And also, MRT Corp works hand-in-hand with other parties in the development of the project, which are the Public Land Transport Commission or SPAD as supervising agency and also MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn Bhd as its Project Delivery Partner.
