Risk assessment for Best Buy supermarket: In Practical terms, a risk assessment is a thorough look at workplace to identify those things, situations, processes that may cause harm, particularly to people.

In Best Buy company two recent incidents occurs regarding health and safety issue, As a Health and Safety manager I have to conduct risk assessment first to find out hazards, analyze the risk associated with that hazard and determine appropriate ways to eliminate or control the hazard.

Identify the Hazards: In this step I have to looking for those things at Best Buy work place that have the potential to cause harm and identifying workers who may be exposed to the harm. In Best Buy workplace there was many hazard materials in the workplace.

Hot Oil

Inappropriate fat fryer.

Handle less plastic bucket.

Collection Barrels

Slipping floor.

Inappropriate matting system.

Decide who might be harmed and how: In Best Buy company there can be many people who might be harmed.

Assistant Sabina.

 Employees.

Visitors or public.

The organization.

On the other hand in second incident, the entrance system of Best Buy was not managed in a proper way, there were a slipping floor with an inappropriate matting system and where water easily cover the area and make it wet. For that reason, supporting staff, employees, employer, visitors, or public can be harmed by slipping, falling, and trip.

Evaluate the risk and decide on precaution: As a health and safety manager, in this step I have to estimating the existing risk in Best Buy and prioritizing them in terms of importance. And I need to manage them responsibly.

In the first incident Sabina getting burned in her back and it can occurs important problem for the organization and Sabina as well. With this incident Sabina was getting injured and didn’t complete her job in time. It will cost for the organization and Sabina as well. And this accident

To Involves workers,staff in meetings so that they can be sure about hazards materials.

Best Buy need to preventing access to the hazards.

Provide information regarding hazards.

Record findings and implement them: As a Health and Safety manager, in this step I have to record all the significant findings. I found Hazards like:-
