Abstract
Much information can be found about the success factor of a social enterprise, but among the case studies the researchers have found, none of them include the being eco-friendly factor. In the Philippines there are two successful social enterprises which are called Rags2Riches and Human Nature. Both of these two social enterprises advocates saving the environment. Human nature produce organic body care products and Rags2Riches recycle scrap cloth and make them into bags. Thus the researcher wants to determine if creating products or services which are eco-friendly is one of the factors that help in the success if a social enterprise. This research proposal will be possible through surveying the Filipinos, who are mainly businessmen, businesswomen, and housewives. The survey would have the main questions of asking the public if they prefer using eco-friendly products more than the non eco-friendly products. This research proposal would consist of the following: (1)Background (2)Theoretical Framework (3)Methodology (4) Analysis and Discussion (5)Consideration (6) Work Schedule (7)Budget and resources (8)other preparation.
Background
According to (Eccleston, P.,2002) survey, they said that more and more people are aware and concerned about the damage we are doing to the earth, thus they do everything they can to reduce environmental harm such as recycling, buying local produced products, using less water and reducing the use of electricity. And now in UK being eco-friendly is one of the socially accepted norms, but what about the Philippines?
Because people are becoming more aware of the environment, they are leaning towards buying more eco-friendly things. So the researcher wants to determine if environmental friendly factors can contribute to the success of social enterprises in the Philippines. This is because two of the successful enterprise in the Philippines (Rags2Riches and Human Nature) advocates being eco-friendly.
This proposal also aims to add this factor in one of the list of success factors of a social enterprise. So the researcher wants to provide more research about this topic to encourage entrepreneurs to build social enterprises around being eco-friendly
