Every high performing organization there is more commitment to align plans and actions with company’s stated values, even with market constantly changing alignments require regular attention.
Target commitment is to “expect more, pay less.” What this mean Target wants to make this the shoppers preferred shopping destination. Target has an outstanding record helping in the community. They team up with key organizations to help with needs of communities in Target locations. Past years until today Target department store lead to innovation and retail revolution, and have built better communities. Target has a history of giving. They began the Target foundation in 1918 for the purpose of giving aid to around the world. According to George D. Dayton said in 1918 “Success is making ourselves useful in the world, valuable to society, helping in lifting in the level of humanity, so conducting ourselves that when we go the world will be somewhat better of our having lived the brief span of our lives" (Target, 2012).
Since 1962 Target became a discount stores that has something for everyone as, they say in one of the core values “design for all.” Target celebrates diversity they believe diversity is the core to every area of business, women suppliers, and building teams from people with different backgrounds and cultures. Target’s strong values to customer’s needs continues to acquire success for the business and communities they serve.
