Effect of International Environment on MBA Program
Since 2012, Myanmar has more engagement with international communities and it participated in interconnected business world. Hence, Myanmar cannot stand itself like previous time and the events around the world may affect the Myanmar economy. MBA program is no exception. It would need to align with the changing demand from economy to produce executives who can manage the change effectively and operate in global business environment efficiently.
Current curriculums of MBA program reflect the changing business world. Organizations used information technologies in their daily operation to make the decision quickly and effectively in the always changing environment. So, MBA include the subject such as Managerial Computing and Management Information System to facilitate the changes demanded by business world.
Doing business ethically and responsibly is a crucial part of international business environment. International organization checked the background of companies that they are going to partner with and so business ethics is necessary to engage more with international business communities. MBA program teach Business Ethics as part of their curriculum to reflect those demand.
With the growing pressure from international business alliances such as North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), European Union (EU), Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) as well as the competition from BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries which have newly developed economies, ASEAN has little choice but to open up its economy within its region to compete with changing world economic landscape. Myanmar is going to be a part of ASEAN Economic Community in 2018. So, business in Myanmar cannot be sustained with current trend to compete with their competitors in the region when ASEAN economies become open up.
