Emirates airline is a well known name among the major carriers of Middle East. The airline's name itself projects satisfaction to its customers. It started service in 1985 and has shown a tremendous growth over a very short period of time. It offers service to six continents across the globe. Emirates has top listed the buyer list of latest Airbus A380 super jumbo, the largest aircraft in commercial services, by placing the biggest order to meet the requirements of its customers (company history).
To accommodate the growing passenger demand, Emirates constructed its own Terminal in the Dubai International Airport, also known as Emirates terminal 3. The terminal offers state of the art facilities, which include conference rooms, shower facilities, spas and one of the biggest free zones. The main motive behind the new terminal was to avoid delays and offer exclusive services to the passengers of emirates (Newhouse, 2008). The terminal is spacious and equipped with latest technology to facilitate hassle free transition of passengers from terminal to the aircraft (Emirates terminal 3 takes off, 2008).
Emirates has been named the ninth best airline in the Airline of the Year awards in 2007 and 2008. The airline has been awarded with the best in-flight entertainment by Skytrax for four years in a row. In July 2008, Emirates gained the world's most hygienic Airline award from Taverner. All of these awards enhanced the image of Emirates as a competitor for major western carriers (Emirates airlines).
