Case Questions:
- What is the structure of the Project Team [Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)] for this project? And how would you structure the PMO (Program Management Office). Outline the KPIs of the Project Team for the PMO to monitor as the project progresses (use any framework to represent the KPIs)?
The purpose of the project launched by Kelowna Flightcraft was to acquire an ERP system
which would help in integrating its three main business areas-
- Financial systems
- Materials Management and
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul)
To maintain a clear line of sight the anticipated benefits were bucketed into 2 categories – Technical and Strategic. As a result of clear planning for what was required, the team formulated for this project comprised of individuals from various parts of the organization who would be directly affected by the new changes and KF ensured that these employees would be present not only for the acquisition but also for the implementation phase.
The structure of the team is as below:
