KFC Vs. PETA Case Study

  1. Personally, I support PETA over KFC. There is enough information provided within the case that would make many people prefer to support PETA for the sake of the way the chickens are bread and treated.

  1. The criticisms that PETA makes against KFC includes the way the chickens are slaughtered, the treatment of the chickens by the chicken-catching employees, genetic strains on the chickens, forced growth and the amount of the space the chickens have to live in. Yes, these criticisms are similar as the main reason for these conditions/processes is simply to save money just like what most businesses want.
  1. KFC has used the arguments that PETA is trying to make people vegetarians, KFC has also said that it is not their fault for the way the chickens are bread and treated but the famers fault.
  1. The range of PETA’s actions are acceptable extent. They use controversial tactics as it is the only way people will listen and pay attention to the issue. A source of power would be the media.
  1. I’m not too sure whether or not it is proper however I do think that in order to get what they want they need to pressurize KFC for as much change as possible in order to get at least some change overall.
  1. Animals do have rights, If you have made the decision to have a pet dog, you are required to feed it and look after it. Even if the animals are going to used for human consumption like the chickens, the need to bread, processed and slaughtered humanely.
