1.0 INTRODUCTION

Lady M Confections is a cake wholesale business company that was founded in May 2001. In the beginning of the business, Lady M Confections were sold cakes to upscale restaurants and luxury hotels in New York City. Lady M Confections have two newly appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) which is Romaniszyn and Daisy Tom.

One of the important factors that been taken by Lady M Confections to make their company succeed which is the designation of their cake shop. People couldn’t stop talking about their shop or called as cake ‘boutique’ where from its delicate, aesthetically-pleasing goods to its sleek, understated decor.

The unique of Lady M Confections product is different than its competitor bakeries where rather than serving the traditional, sugar-laden cakes that Americans are used to, they looked to emulate the bakeries of Japan. While influenced by the French, the Japanese bakeries focused on a delicate, less sweet taste and a careful attention to aesthetics. Lady M’s signature dessert is called as ‘Mille Crepe’ which is consist of a minimum of 20 layers of French crepes layered with pastry cream.

Mille-crepe sales increase every years and becoming popular in the market.  Thus, some bakeries attempted to replicate the product, but none were able to do so. Romaniszyn said that no one could ever do it to their scale, and no one could ever make it to their quality, because the way Lady M Confections make the crepe is special.
