1. Introduction of Company
IKEA is a retail company that designs and sells furniture, home accessories, appliances and more. Since January 2008, IKEA has become the world’s largest furniture retailer. IKEA was founded by Ingvar Kamprad in 1943, originating in Sweden, however, in the 1970s, IKEA started expanding to other parts of Europe. In the same decade, they started expanding to other parts of the world such as Japan and Singapore. (Wikipedia, 2016)

IKEA is a private sector that is known for its modern architectural designs for its various types of furniture and products. IKEA’s plans in Singapore is to offer a huge variety of well designed and functional furniture with prices as low as possible so that the majority of people would be able to enjoy them. 2. Job Analysis for 2 Positions
2.1 Job description of Design Manager
The Design Manager will work at the IKEA’s Service office in Singapore with a team of design specialists. The design manager will assist the IKEA retail support leader on all topics related to master planning, architecture, interior design, store planning and technical matters. He/she is responsible to maximise the pre-project results by securing the advanced arranging of IKEA stores from the first ideas till availability of Conceptual Drawings. He/She is also in charge of the implementation of IKEA Store Design and Retail Architecture Manual, reasonable drawings, manuals and development details (identified with engineering). Furthermore, He/She is a speaking partner with designers and arranging professionals to lead and oversee them and work through the specialist groups to guarantee the objectives are met. Job Specifications of Design Manager
One needs to be a qualified Architect with at least 10 years of design foundation and at least 3 years of IKEA experience with the ability to design IKEA stores and the constructed development stages. Must have vast knowledge of the best practise in retail advancement, especially in IKEA's general retail principles. A results driven, dynamic cooperative person and ready to work with little to no supervision. Exceedingly independent with the ability to work multiple assignments and under pressure. 2.2 Job description of Sales Team Leader
Working for the Shopkeeper, The Sales Team Leader will assist in driving and leading his/her team in developing the Home Furnishing Business (HFB) that he/she is in charge of in the Store. She/he is in charge of maximising sales by utilizing his/her general knowledge of their HFBs, nearby markets and our clients, she/he will also assist their team with the IKEA mechanical sales framework to ensure the success of the IKEA Concept. They will make sure that the HFB is fit as a fiddle and has solid business during opening hours. He/she is to guarantee that our top selling items are readily available and displayed at all times.
