Persuasive Messages

Part 1:

Hello Boss,

I just wanted to reach out to you and bring up a new idea I had to expand our company. I have been doing a lot of work throughout my community and there seems to be a large need to get children physically active. We are already very involved in the sports community and I was thinking that we can find a large market if we started up camps for kids in the community. When looking up some statistics an article from KidsHealth said, “ 1 out of 3 kids is now considered overweight or obese.” This means that parents are now looking for new opportunities to get their kids out of the house, and I believe that we can be exactly what they need. The money is there for us to take and it would greatly improve our image as a global company if we provided such an experience for communities everywhere.

What Channel Should You Use?

In this case I believe the best channel for us to use would be the Internet and the use of fliers. By using the internet we can quickly get the word out there to the community that we are setting up these camps for kids and how they can sign up for them. Then we could also send fliers to all of the local schools so that we could be sure that the kids and their parents will hear about the camp. Once this is done we can set up a demo camp that will show the community exactly what we are planning on doing and how fun the camps will be for their kids.

Part 2:

For this part of the assignment I would definitely want to meet with my community and pitch the idea to them myself.  The main aspects of my sales pitch would be to tell everyone how much their kids could grow from this opportunity. Not only would this experience be a lot of fun for them, but it would also be a great way to keep them healthy. I would then tell them that this would also be a great way for their kids to learn new fun games and to grow as well. They would grow in many ways because they would be learning live lessons and how to get a long with other children their age. It will help them develop their social skills and teach them all about team work too.
