“social enterprise is a market- oriented economic activities serving asocial goal .it includes a wide spectrum of organizations ,from for –profit business engaged in a socially beneficial activities, to nonprofit organization engaged in a mission supporting commercial activities”. ( Marth , 2006 )

so from the case study, Volunteer opportunities abroad (VOA) , and Vietnam handicraft initiative ( VHI ) , is an example of different organizations ,which are included in the social enterprise definition.

VOA is an example of NPO, and its main role to fight poverty in developing countries, with the main goal is being assisting the local organizations to become more sustainable and to be more effective.
