DiGi commenced operations in May 1995 with the first fully digital communication service in Malaysia the GSM 1800. DiGi.com Bhd. is listed on Bursa Malaysia and it is under Telenor Group, one of the global telecommunication providers. DiGi mobile services are undertaken by its wholly-owned subsidiary, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. For the past 5 years, DiGi’s revenue has more than doubled to approximately RM 4.9 billion with the base of 7.7 million subscribers. It is a leader of the prepaid industry, it also provide postpaid and business plan to deliver quality and value added mobile and data services for users. It has launched 14.4 Mbps 3G/HSPA network in late 2008 to provide better internet services to subscribers. It also committed to a sustainable business that financially and ecologically responsible to all stakeholders. They think 2010 will be an exciting year with good opportunities for growth, especially in the mobile internet market, which covers both mobile broadband and mobile internet access on handsets. DiGi operating revenue has increased from year 2008 to year 2009, from RM 4,814 million to RM 4,910 million, the net profit for DiGi has decreased by 12%, from RM 1,141 million in year 2008 to RM 1,000 million in year 2009.

Maxis was granted license to operate GSM 900 mobile network, domestic network and international gateway in year 1993. It commenced mobile operations in August 1995, launched fixed line and international gateway operations in early 1996. It has provided full suite services to fulfill the telecommunication needs of individual consumers, SMEs and large corporations in Malaysia.
