Cyber Bully Essay
In 2006 statistics showed that 1 in every 3 teens in America was a victim of a cyberbullying incident. This is a fact that we as a country should not be proud of. Cyber Bullying leads to loneliness, loneliness leads to depression, and depression leads to an early ended life for teens. That is why not only teens but anyone who is caught in the act of cyberbullying should be seriously prosecuted.
Living in the world of technology not only gives kids advantages, it also provokes new kinds of problems. Cyber bullying is a problem when internet communication is used for threatening or humiliating teens. The consequences of cyberbullying are not at all better than that of ordinary bullying. Which is why new ideas need to be put into action to save lives. The internet/social media is all around us today and teens use them alot. So with that it is very hard to become detached from the situation once being apart of it.
Life has changed over the past two decades with phones and computers. If someone were getting picked on or “bullied” at school or the park, they didn’t have to worry about it when they got home. Why? Well, because they were safe at home and free from the bully. But now it is not that easy for someone to get away due to all the new technology. Of course teens are away from the bully physically, but not mentally and emotionally once logged onto social media accounts. Kids use their phones every day for emergencies, contact with friends, and contact with family. Through the use of cyber bullying strategies, kids can now make fake accounts and get fake numbers. Knowing kids have to go home everyday being the victim of this situation should not go on any longer.
