Descriptive Essay

The place that I have chosen to write my descriptive essay about is Virginia Beach. This was the first time that I've been on vacation in many years, so I was extremely excited about our mini get away. I have found Virginia Beach to be a very relaxing environment that allows you to get away from any stress or troubles that you may have. I enjoy sitting in the sand, listening to the waves, and watching everyone enjoy the water.
This year, our family decided that we wanted to go on vacation to Virginia Beach since we all have conflicting schedules and it's very hard for us to spend time with one another. I enjoyed this trip because it was my granddaughter's first time on the beach and she was fascinated by what she saw. When we first arrived to the beach, my grand daughter and I stood in the sand and watched the waves as they rolled along. She was also interested in the bright colors and surf boards as we looked out into the ocean and saw how the surfers were enjoying themselves as they rode the waves.
We later decided to make a sand castle in hopes that it wouldn't be knocked down by the waves as they rolled ashore. It brought the biggest smile to my face to see her giggle and smile with her bucket in one hand and the shovel in the other gathering sand to play with. Although I do not like to walk without any shoes, I decided to do so because I wanted to help her have as much fun as she could. The sun was shining so bright and there was a very gentle breeze that we felt occasionally as we sat in the sand.
After she became bored with building her sand castle and playing in the sand, I decided to grab her by the hand in order to walk along the beach. While we were walking down the beach, we saw starfish. When she spotted the star fish she began to yell, Nana "It's Patrick!, It's Patrick!" referring to Patrick the Starfish from Spongebob Squarepants. I let her know that it wasn't Patrick but instead
