Do You Think Parent Should Be Sent to Old Folks Home?

   Do you think parent should be sent to old folks home? In the era of technology and modernisation, the number of old folks home is mushrooming all over the countries. Many old folks are sent to old folk’s home especially in advanced countries such as Japan, America and Singapore. It is very pathetic to see many of old folks staying in old folks home with only basic necessities in life. In my opinion, I think parents should not be sent to old folks home.

   First, the reasons why we must not to send their parents to old folks home because it is our responsibility to take care of our parents. Let’s think about it, parent take care of us when we are young and it is only logical if we tent to them when they getting older. We should not abandon them. For instance, we should carry out filial piety by remembering their birthday and anniversaries. As a result, we should repay our parent’s sacrifices and contribution to us. We should bear in mind not to be a snake in their bosoms after all they have done to us with good lives. So, it is so clear that to tent to their parents instead of sending them to charity homes.

   Besides that, if our aged parents well, we will indirect to become a role model to our children in the future. This is due to children will only follow parent’s action. As the saying goes, monkey see, monkey does. In children’s naïve minds, they always assume that adults will always right. For example, when we abandon our parents to old folks home, it is understandable if our children do the same things to us in the near future. After all, a bad tree never yields a good apple. As a result, if we take care well to our parents, we will instil gratefulness in our children’s mindsets. Needless, our children will grow up to become a person with positive virtues. So, it is true that we can become a role model to our children by not send our parent to the old folk’s home.

   However, we someday too circumstances so that we send our parents to the old folks home. This is because we are career-oriented. We just spend our time in work until neglect our parents. For instance, most of us work from morning till night. We didn’t care about our parents. We should not only to overlook their necessities but to take care and concern them. So we need to spend time to accompany them. Sometimes, we can take them travel to some foreign countries. This action will foster our relationship with parents.
