It had been freezing all the way through winter, cold nights in front of the heater never going out on the weekends. Until summer finally came in the beautiful city of Chicago, it had been one of the hottest in history. It was the night of Miller's 18th birthday and his best mates Gianni and Ed want to take him out to celebrate it with him. Miller was refusing to go out because he has an important work meeting the next morning and did not want to destroy his future. Gianni and Ed are not letting him stay home on his birthday so they threaten to keep Miller up all night until he accepts to come out for just one quick drink.
As the three boys stood in Miller's front yard ready for a big night .Frank, Millers' dad had come past to wish his son a happy birthday and also to wish him good luck in his interview the next morning. They had got Ed off the dance floor and headed home. It was pitch black but Miller could see a light in the distance, as the three of them had started to walk towards the light they could hear footsteps coming from behind them.
