Smokey Eyes

In terms of eye makeup, is there anything more appealing and sophisticated than the classic Smoky Eye Look? While flipping through fashion magazines, ever noticed women wearing a smokey eye makeup and wondered how to get that perfect eye look? Creating a smoky eye is not as difficult as it may seem, and it only takes about ten minutes.

Here are some materials required to create this fabulous look: A light shade of concealer, eye lash curler, fluffy brush, pencil eyeliner, lipstick, sponge-tip applicator, a dark and light colored eye shadow, and lastly, an eye shadow brush. After getting all these supplies, it is time to begin!

The first step in this process is to get the eyes ready. Begin by applying concealer under the eye area, and all over the top lid. This will prepare the eyes for the eye shadow that will be applied.

The next step is to use the eyeliner. Those with small eyes may want to apply the liner from the middle of the under eye to the outside of the eye. Those with larger eyes, apply the liner corner to corner. Make sure both the top and bottom rims of the eye are lined with the eyeliner.

With a small eye shadow brush, soften the edges of the eye pencil line.

Apply light base color. The key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker color. Sweep a light shadow over the lids to your brow bone.

Now it is time to get the smokey effect. Blend in the darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Using an eye shadow brush, blend in color starting at the lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. They key here is to blend!

Finish off with mascara. For dark and thick lashes, use several coats. For a more dramatic effect, be sure to curl lashes with an eye lash curler.
