Diversity and Personality at Work
Diversity and personality are two key factors in any workplace. Both traits are prevalent in businesses large or small and throughout any organization. Over our learning group, the responses from team members of different backgrounds, Cultures, Lifestyles, and occupations gave us a good indication of how different each personality type can be among an array of individuals. The assessment provided good indications to show where the group is similar, different and gives a great baseline on where our strengths and weaknesses lie. Having such indications in any group situation, especially in a work scenario, gives the group that much of a better chance of success.
The self-assessment looked at five key indicators to determine traits across a given person and scored based on a response from the inputter. Each member of the group took the assessment which had the following results:

The results were varied across the board, with some members scoring similar and others different. Krystal’s results showed high scores in the extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and open to experience categories. The lowest score fell mid-range in the emotion stability category. Overall Krystal’s assessment showed a strong willingness to work along with team members, be outgoing and helpful, but conscientious of other members as well. Devin’s results showed different results, as he scored lower on the extraversion category and mid-range on the other four categories. Devin’s result shows a preference to work independently but can also be open to experience as well as is agreeable in many situations. Devin’s score in emotional stability shows a calm and collected attitude towards many things, something that is extremely key when dealing in group situations. Next Ellis scored high in the agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience categories. His scores in emotional stability were mid-range, and extraversion was in the low upper range which indicates that while not being the center of attention, he has a relaxed attitude, sympathizes with others and is open to new ideas and experiences. Cherrie’s results were slightest different in that she was mid-range in the agreeableness, conscientiousness, and emotional stability categories but higher range in the openness to experience and extraversion categories. Cherrie scores, like Krystal, show there are an outgoing personality and a desire to be the center of attention. Both important attributes to have in any group because they tend to help organize and bring the group together. Finally, Jenna’s results were high in all categories. Jenna’s scores indicate that she has no issue being the center of attention, is prepared, has a relaxed attitude and enjoys hearing and thinking about new things.
