It is pretty awesome it has guns brilliant book to have to read to understand the full depth of what it's about, it begins a bit slow but by the middle of the book it is very interesting, the novel is all about two men who made a living by working on Ranches around America in the 1930 s, who get thrown out of their place of work on a ranch in Weed because Lenny grabbed a woman's dress because he likes the colour red, they go to work on another ranch but there is a troublemaker named Curley who is the ranch owners son who was a boxer, to add to the problems there was Curleys wife who is quoted as "jail bait" by the middle of the novel Lenny and George decide to buy their own house with Candy, in the end Lenny kills Curleys wife when he's playing with her hair and would'nt let go and ended up snapping her neck, the end of the novel ends up with George shooting Lenny in the back of the head while he tells him about their dream home that will never be.
There are many links in the novel to the period it was set in, there was still racism as we see with Crooks the stable buck, and we also see how people followed their dreams e.g The American dream. You must remember in an exam talk about how the death of Lenny is foreshadowed all the time when they put down Candy's dog it shows how by the end of the novel there will be a tragedy.
